On skiing holidays, people spend their time outside – and increasingly they are online at the same time. The sharp increase in internet use with mobile devices presents an excellent opportunity for leading ski resorts such as LAAX to provide visitors with informative content. In a similar way to the Flims (summer) mobile website, winter guests need to be given fast access to key information when they are out and about.
LAAX’s new mobile website offers more service and convenience to skiers, snowboarders and freestylers. The existing content of the stationary LAAX website is connected by the map with the user’s position, giving guests immediate access to relevant information. At the same time, LAAX has the opportunity to supply them with specific offers of interest. In this case, the solution is not built on the popular Google Maps but on the topological map of LAAX, with which regular visitors will be familiar. A special conversion system for global coordinates was developed for this purpose.
