Intranet 2.0

Project description
Swisscom 'one Intranet'

Initial position

The restructuring of the Swisscom group resulted in the need for a new intranet. The previous intranet landscape had evolved over the years and consisted of many autonomous platforms which no longer met employees’ requirements with regard to usability, relevance of information, and collaboration. It was necessary to consolidate content, structure, and technology.

Solution

The combination of classic intranet and Enterprise 2.0 approaches creates an efficient and flexible working tool. The start pages which can be customised with widgets, integrated wikis, social networking features, and other Enterprise 2.0 functions enable employees to communicate and exchange knowledge throughout the company. The individual business areas receive their own intranets, which are incorporated into a unified information architecture and thereby form one intranet across the whole of Swisscom.

Benefits

The new intranet creates the foundation for a consistent and expandable corporate intranet and thereby supports the realignment of the company strategy. The combination of classic intranet and Enterprise 2.0 approaches promotes internal dialogue and working efficiency.
