Unic with 30 percent sales growth in Germany

In 2017, we achieved sales growth in Germany of 30 percent to 4,235 million euros. We are significantly pushing our growth in the German market: last year alone we gained 50% more new customers. Through a joint venture with the web analytics specialist webalyse, we are further expanding our expertise in digital marketing. In addition, the Munich location is growing at a very pleasing rate: We recently moved into new, larger offices near the Ostbahnhof.

Unic GmbH is the German subsidiary of the Unic Group. It is pushing its growth in the German market significantly. In the business year 2017, sales rose by around 30 percent to EUR 4,235 million. Unic is represented in Germany in Karlsruhe and Munich. Together with our partner webalyse we moved into new offices at Munich's Ostbahnhof in April.

Strengthened competencies in web analytics, personalization and marketing automation

Unic Germany offers the expertise for consulting, creation, implementation and operation of solutions in digital marketing and e-commerce. We rely on long-standing, market-leading software partners such as Adobe, Sitecore and SAP Hybris. Together with webalyse, a consulting and service company for web analytics and marketing automation, we are expanding our competencies in the areas of marketing automation, personalization and web analytics. The aim is to establish a competence centre for personalised websites and e-commerce applications.

Many new customers and award-winning projects

In Germany, Unic serves around 15 customers in the upper midmarket and enterprise segments, including Hornbach, Audi and Bridgestone. We gained 7 new customers last year.

The digital solutions we have designed and implemented have repeatedly received awards, among others:

  • Hornbach - The digital DIY store: Hornbach's online platform, implemented by Unic, has already won several awards. The EHI Retail Institute recently awarded the digital shop second place in its study "Onlineshop Maturity Index 2017 – Home Improvement Centers".
  • Swiss Federal Railways SBB: The platform sbb.ch, newly designed by Unic, was honoured as the best Internet project in Switzerland in 2017: On April 12, 2018 we received the Master Best of Swiss Web 2018 with this project.
  • Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) – Health on the Web: Unic was awarded the KlinikAward 2017 in the category "Best Online Presence" for the concept, design and frontend of the clinic website. The project was also nominated for the Master Best of Swiss Web and won two awards at the Best of Swiss Web: silver in marketing and bronze in public affairs.
  • Jungfrau Railways – a breathtaking visual world: The relaunch of junfraubahnen.ch was awarded silver in the category website at the Annual Multimedia Award 2018. The project also won five Best of Swiss Web 2017 awards.

Around 35 employees at the Karlsruhe and Munich locations stand for high technical competence, result-orientation and personal responsibility. Unic Germany is counting on strong growth in the German market in the coming months. For this reason, we are exchanging the previous location in Munich for larger rooms near the Ostbahnhof.

With work zones towards an efficient and satisfying daily routine at Unic

The workplace is the homeland, a source of identity and inspiration, a room for interaction, but also a place to concentrate. In order to enable Unic employees to work in an efficient and effective manner, the company management introduced the strategic initiative Workplace2015+ in 2014. A concept of use was prepared and it will be implemented in the new office spaces of Unic Zürich in Altstetten as an example. The relocation will take place on 9-11 March 2016 – the preparations are at full tilt.
