The new platforms will be operated on the same code basis in order to utilise synergies in the development. The HSG Career Service Center (CSC) focuses on the needs of students. With the new event management tool, companies and HSG can record and manage events; at the same time students can register for these events. Additionally, the HSG CSC uses the platform to list a wide range of job vacancies along with comprehensive information on starting a career after studying.
HSG Alumni is the graduate organisation of HSG and has over 20,000 members. The design and functions of the www.hsgalumni.ch website have been completely revised. The alumni can network with one another using the “who’s who” membership directory or “Clubs & Chapters”, register and pay for events directly, and create their own events. The annual membership can also be paid online. A new job portal is also available under www.alumnijobs.ch. Both students and alumni are managed in the same CRM. This provides students with a seamless transition to the alumni services after their graduation.
Unic provided the university with support in designing and implementing two community platforms on TYPO3.
The platform’s added value has become apparent in the short time since going live. Companies are releasing more than 200 jobs per month on the platform. Thanks to the more efficient registration for events and the option for organisers to manage these events online, there is a significant reduction in the administrative load. The platforms are used very actively by companies, students and alumni. After just a few weeks, the HSG CSC already had the same number of confirmed student profiles as the previous platform. The improved information flow and the simplified registration via the platform led to a significant increase in the utilisation rate very soon after the go-live. The initial reactions of the alumni members are also very positive: they are impressed by the design and functions of the platform.
