Unic has implemented a solution for Tommy Hilfiger Europe BV that interfaces product data between the SAP’s ERP and Hilfiger's webshop. For this purpose, Unic has made use of a product information management system. The system increases data quality: product information is easier to maintain - with six seasons and over several thousand articles per season, a definite requirement for online success. The product information management (PIM) system coordinates the data exchange between SAP and the webshop. Information, such as product prices, are extracted from the ERP, can be processed in the system and get updated daily in the online shop.
The PIM simplifies data entry, for example by making use of automated translation tables that are used for clothing sizes. In addition, a three-tier "Fashion Module" is in use in order fulfil typical industry requirements for managing garments correctly; a t-shirt exists in different colours and each colour is, in turn, available in different sizes. Additionally, special offers for particular products or segments can be controlled and highlighted.
